I called this agency for business liability insurance. I received a quote that I was good with. I decided I liked the quote so much, I would move my homes and all my vehicles to her agency once they expired with my current agent. I chose to go ahead and start the commercial insurance by itself. I am so glad I did not move my other properties now that this agency failed to hold up their end of the quote. Because when I received my bill, it was one and a half times what I was quoted. I emailed this agency repeatedly asking for the reason. Responses were very slow and vague or nonexistent. I finally called the agency to get better answers. The girl I was working with was very nice (the only reason for the 2 stars), but she had no answers for me. She said she didn't understand it herself. She said she had tried and tried to get the underwriters to respond to her with a reason for the extra charge that she says they were calling wedding planners fees or charges. But I am NOT a wedding planner. And if they insist this was something I was supposed to pay, then why wasn't it in the original quote? I spoke with many other rental companies and asked if any of them were paying this "fee". None were. One of them, who is married to an insurance agent, said her husband had never heard of it. I continued to try and work with the agents employee to no avail. It would take repeated emails or for me to finally call before I could get responses from her. And there was always an apology saying sorry I was out of the office last week. Well, she must be out of the office every other week then because that was her excuse several different times. I asked her if I could speak to the actual agent. That maybe since she is the owner, she could actually get the problem taken care of. I was told that she had already asked her boss and was told to figure it out or work it out. Something to that effect. So, I guess this agent doesn't want to handle this herself. If she can't be bothered to take care of a client, then I don't want her as an agent. So, looks like I'll be searching for another agent or more likely another company to handle my business liability and my personal properties. I am very disappointed that I was unable to get this worked out and have my insurance quote honored. This is going to cause a great deal of work for me to find another agent again.
