A couple of summers ago, my Father and I went through the trouble of changing the clutch in my 2002 Hyundai Elantra. We laid on the hot August cement for nearly 8 Hours or so, sweating and fighting this clutch. It was done fast and dirty, we didn't clean the new clutch, it had our greasy hands all over it. We didn't torque any of the bolts to specs, and I am not entirely sure we even tightened some of the bolts. There were days I was driving along, and would hear a thump, and look in my rear view mirror to see if there was a bolt bouncing around on the street, and waiting for my car to fall apart. Well, it was no surprise that about 3000 miles later that clutch went down-hill, and it needed to be replaced. I called around Columbia, looking for a reputable shop, and getting quotes. I knew it was going to be a pricy repair, and we were getting $900 to $1200 quotes from some shops up here. I called down to Fosters Transmission in Jefferson City, and they quoted me $700 for a clutch repair; I will drive 50 miles to save $200, in a heartbeat. So I hauled my car down to Jefferson City, and they got to work on it, and in 2 days, it was done, and ready for me to pick up. They even had it finished quicker than any shop in Columbia said they could do it. I am writing this review after my initial "break-in" period of about 500 or so miles. For the first 150 or so miles I babied the clutch, but then I got a little aggressive, and may have glazed it a bit, and it started slipping pretty bad. I called up Fosters Transmission, and they were ready for me to bring it back in to take a look at it. That was un-necessary, as the next morning, all was well, and since then, the clutch has been great. This clutch has not caused me any problems since; The car has been driving great, and I feel that it has been money well spent. Thank you Fosters Transmission, you have a customer for life.
